Two years ago, we asked Buckhead Christian Ministry (BCM) to tell us what would make a difference for them in 2020. Without knowing all that would change in the next few months, they told us they wanted to hire an Emergency Assistance Coordinator so they could serve even more of our neighbors.

Our House: Caring for Families During a Pandemic
It’s safe to say that during 2020 we’ve all faced unexpected challenges: canceled plans, job difficulties, or homeschooling. We have all faced the unexpected. Our nonprofit partner, Our House, is not immune to the unexpected challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused.
Otwell Middle School
Many families at Otwell Middle School struggle with language barriers. While the students speak English, many of their parents do not. With last year’s donations, you provided for the addition of a part-time bilingual parent liaison.
Forsyth and Dawson County Social Workers
Each year during the Be Rich campaign, we look for ways to help local schools thrive. Thanks to your generosity during 2020’s campaign, we were able to contribute to several emergency funds for school social workers in Forsyth County and Dawson County.
Water Projects with Lifewater
Meet Ballam. Ballam is a hydrogeologist—he studies the way groundwater moves through soil and rock. And, he’s just the person Lifewater International needs.
Forsyth County Schools: Suicide Prevention
Meet Karin and Gail. Karin and Gail are social workers who facilitate a suicide intervention-training program for Forsyth County Schools.

Summer camp can be an incredible experience. It’s a place where you make lasting friendships, conquer fears—we see you, zipline—and grow in your independence.
Summit Counseling
Let’s face it. Kids have to deal with some really hard things these days—things that are difficult to process, especially alone. Fortunately, kids are starting to see the value in asking for help from counselors. Unfortunately, not all of them have access to counselors or the funds needed for their services.
Friends of Refugees
Meet Dareen. Dareen is a translator working with Friends of Refugees. She’s a part of their Embrace program, which helps guide refugee mothers through the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.
City of Refuge
Meet Seth. Seth believes all people have dignity. More importantly, he believes all people deserve to know they have dignity. So, Seth devotes his time to City of Refuge—a community in the heart of Atlanta.
Good Samaritan Health Center Of Cobb
Meet Beth. Beth is the new part-time pharmacist at Good Sam Cobb—an organization that provides quality and affordable healthcare to the poor, underinsured, and uninsured. Hiring Beth has helped Good Sam solve a huge problem.
You’ve Made a Difference for Open Hand
Meet Matt. Matt first volunteered at Open Hand Atlanta back in the mid-90s. Fast-forward a couple of decades, and Matt returned to Open Hand to lead the organization’s fundraising efforts, ultimately accepting the role of Executive Director in 2011.
Eagle Ranch: House Parents
Meet the Shorts. The Shorts are house parents living full-time at Eagle Ranch. Eagle Ranch is one of Georgia’s largest residential programs for children in crisis.
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
Meet Jackie. Jackie is a senior citizen living in Atlanta. Recently, he needed some repairs made to his home—and not small repairs. He was in need of critical repairs that would directly impact his safety and accessibility to his home.
Medshare: Biomedical Engineer
Meet Eben. Eben is a Biomedical Engineer who works for an organization called MedShare. MedShare helps resource-constrained communities all over the world by providing vital medical supplies and equipment.
The Place of Forsyth: The Market
Meet Jacob. Jacob works at The Place of Forsyth. As part of his job, he oversees The Market, which is a client-choice food pantry serving over 200 families each week.
You’ve Made a Difference at No Longer Bound
Meet David. He’s a graduate of No Longer Bound, a 12-month residential addiction recovery program. Several years after graduation, he has returned to NLB to be their newest certified addiction counselor.
