Forsyth and Dawson County Social Workers
Each year during the Be Rich campaign, we look for ways to help local schools thrive. Thanks to your generosity during 2020’s campaign, we were able to contribute to several emergency funds for school social workers in Forsyth County and Dawson County.
These funds are typically used to help close the gap for students in need. They pay for clothes, medical needs, school supplies, and other things students need to get through an emergency or succeed in the classroom. As we all know, 2020 was not a typical year.
As the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread across Georgia and schools moved to online instruction, local social workers jumped into action. They bought groceries, cleaning supplies, diapers, and toilet paper for families who didn’t have the funds or transportation to get the essentials they needed. Some of these families were directly affected by COVID-19 and could not leave their houses.
Thanks to your generosity, several social workers across our community had the flexibility and resources to take care of some of their most vulnerable students without having to wait for funding to be approved.
This is one example of the impact our upcoming Be Rich campaign can have!
