Medshare: Biomedical Engineer

Meet Eben.

Eben is a Biomedical Engineer who works for an organization called MedShare.

MedShare helps resource-constrained communities all over the world by providing vital medical supplies and equipment. Eben travels to MedShare’s international partners to install, assess, and provide training related to their donated equipment.

On these trips, Eben teaches local biomedical engineers, technicians, doctors, and nurses how to properly use, maintain, and repair the equipment themselves.

Thanks to 2019’s Be Rich donations, MedShare is sending Eben to work with these partners once a quarter.

That may not seem like many trips, but over those four visits, Eben will be able to train more than 160 technicians, engineers, and end-users, as well as repair more than 500 pieces of equipment; this translates into reduced equipment downtime and, over time, increased longevity.

What does that mean? Self-sufficiency, quality healthcare, and more lives saved in these communities.

Thank you for making a difference.
