For 40 years, North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) has helped individuals and families in North Fulton by providing food, clothing, skills classes, workforce training, and even emergency financial assistance like rent coverage.

Since 1990, No Longer Bound has supported and ministered to men recovering from addiction. Relentless for real transformation that lasts far beyond the program, No Longer Bound works with men over the course of a year to help them gain real-world skills, heal from trauma, and break the chains of self-destructive habits.

Hard-working families often face unexpected challenges. Even when they work hard to give their families the best, many families struggle with their career and financial stability. Some eventually find themselves without a place to call home.

It's no secret that the pandemic posed a unique set of challenges for high school students. This was true for a number of students at Centennial High School.

It takes a village to raise a child, and schools are an integral part of that by providing students with a place to learn and grow. Fulton County Schools’ (FSC) social workers fill a unique role, serving as the link between home, school, and community.

For the past thirty years, HomeStretch has come alongside families experiencing homelessness in Fulton County to guide them towards permanent housing and lasting stability. They help families stabilize their home life, finances, employment, and housing.

No Longer Bound has spent the last thirty years ministering to men caught in drug and alcohol addiction. Over the course of a year-long program, they work with men to heal trauma and habits, build real-world skills, and develop a lasting intimacy with God.

“What do you need?” That’s a powerful question. It’s a question that’s at the heart of the Be Rich campaign. And it’s what we asked our friends at Fulton County Schools last year as they were navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.

When men walk onto the No Longer Bound campus, they’re walking away from the life they’ve known—a life of addiction—and committing to live for one year with a group of strangers. You can imagine the range of emotions that brings: fear, hesitation, hope.

Meet Patti. Patti is a Social-Emotional Learning Coach at Amana Academy—a nonprofit, tuition-free charter school in our community. Patti and her team of counselors, social workers, and other specialists have been more important than ever this year as we continue to navigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let’s face it. Kids have to deal with some really hard things these days—things that are difficult to process, especially alone. Fortunately, kids are starting to see the value in asking for help from counselors. Unfortunately, not all of them have access to counselors or the funds needed for their services.

Meet David. He’s a graduate of No Longer Bound, a 12-month residential addiction recovery program. Several years after graduation, he has returned to NLB to be their newest certified addiction counselor.
