Fulton County Schools: Book Drive

“What do you need?”

That’s a powerful question. It’s a question that’s at the heart of the Be Rich campaign. And it’s what we asked our friends at Fulton County Schools last year as they were navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their answer was simple: books. With students learning from home, schools began to realize that many didn’t have access to books. Teachers would encourage their students to read for 15 to 20 minutes a day, only to learn that it simply wasn’t possible without access to the school or public libraries.

We knew that was a need we could help meet. So, as a part of 2020’s Be Rich campaign, we launched a community-wide book drive. Through your generosity and the efforts of families and businesses across North Fulton, we were able to donate over 16,000 books to the Fulton County School system. These books were sent all over the county to the children and families who needed them the most.

This kind of collective impact is what Be Rich is all about—coming together, each doing our own small part, and meeting a BIG need in our community.
