HomeStretch

For the past 30 years, HomeStretch has come alongside families experiencing homelessness in Fulton County to guide them toward permanent housing and lasting stability. They help families stabilize their home life, finances, employment, and housing. Through a supportive housing program comprised of 39 units, they help families get back on their feet by temporarily removing the burden of rent.

Case managers at HomeStretch work directly with families to develop life skills, mentor them, help them find jobs, provide job coaching, and support family relationships. During last year’s Be Rich campaign, you funded the salary for a second HomeStretch case manager, who focuses solely on the welfare of youths in the program. The addition of this Youth Advisor has been a game changer for the families they serve.

Currently at HomeStretch, there are more than 40 children, ranging from infants to teenagers. The Youth Advisor provides these children and students support, advice, and a place for life skills discussions. He also aids in tutoring and finding instructors for after-school programs. He sits with students who are struggling with their mental health, walks them through their pain, and prays with them.

Thanks to your generosity, HomeStretch is able to provide a new layer of care and support for youth through behavioral conversations, mentoring, and tutoring. They are able to provide support to the families they serve through a mentor specifically focused on the realities kids face.

“You are allowing HomeStretch not only to touch young lives but to change lives,” said director Talaya Parker. “We’re on the ground fulfilling the mission every day, but [North Point] gives us the wings to make our program fly.”
