City of Refuge: Program Scholarships

Meet Tevon.

Tevon is a graduate of City of Refuge’s auto mechanic job training program. Thanks to City of Refuge, he is now a certified mechanic and working full-time at a local dealership.

"I was barely scraping by and life was rough,” Tevon shared. “Because of City of Refuge, my life is now transformed. I have my own house now and am providing the life for my family that they deserve."

Your generosity through the Be Rich campaign funded scholarships for five more adults just like Tevon to get valuable job training and gain the skills and confidence to start a rewarding career.

But that wasn’t the only way you helped City of Refuge be FOR ATL in 2021.

Through Be Rich, we were able to fund scholarships for people in all stages of life on Atlanta’s westside. You gave four children the ability to experience a year of City of Refuge’s incredible onsite preschool, giving them a foundation that will benefit them for years to come.

You also funded a scholarship through City of Refuge’s J17 Scholarship Fund that gives a low-income student the ability to go to college or technical school and pairs them with a trusted mentor to walk with them through college and help them launch into adulthood well.

Eleven scholarships to City of Refuge’s groundbreaking programs. Eleven opportunities for brighter futures. Eleven individuals—just like Tevon—who are better because you were FOR ATL.
