Sleep In Heavenly Peace: Bed Build
Each night, thousands of children across Gwinnett County go to sleep without a bed to call their own. Some curl up on a couch. Some share a mattress with a sibling. Some sleep on the floor.
But on Saturday, October 25, 2025, more than 120 Be Rich volunteers showed up to change that.
They gathered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace—a volunteer-run organization with one mission: making sure kids sleep in a bed of their own.
It wasn't glamorous work, but parents built beds with their own kids, teaching them what it looks like to show up for someone you've never met. By day’s end, the sound of drills and saws had gone quiet, and 76 finished beds stood stacked and ready for delivery.
On bed delivery day, each child received a place that was finally theirs. A place to keep a favorite stuffed animal, to read one more page, and to wake up well-rested and ready for a new day. A place made just for them by someone they’ll likely never meet.
Ask the folks at Sleep in Heavenly Peace and they’ll tell you delivery day is why they do it. In that moment, kids receive a tangible reminder that they are seen and cared about.
Thanks to volunteers through Be Rich, they now have something to look forward to when the sun goes down: a bed of their own.
Thank you for building that.
