Home of Hope: Serve Feature
At Home of Hope here in Gwinnett County, the mission is clear: to provide homeless children and their mothers with a safe haven, a warm bed, and the support they need to move from homelessness to hope to, ultimately, a home of their own. Here, families are given a path forward and the space they need to heal.
But healing isn’t just found in programs. Sometimes it begins with something as simple as a string of lights, a scarecrow on a porch, or a Christmas tree in the corner of a room.
Last November, teams of Be Rich volunteers helped decorate Home of Hope for both the fall and Christmas holidays.
“The decorations they put up completely transformed our space,” one team member shared. “It brought so much warmth and cheer to our campus during a time that can be especially hard for the families we serve.”
But it extended beyond the families—volunteers gave a much-needed lift to the staff as well.
“It was a huge relief and blessing to have the Be Rich volunteers take this on. Knowing it was in such capable hands took the pressure off our staff and allowed us to focus on other needs. Honestly, it lifted everyone’s spirits—walking into work and seeing all the beautiful decorations just made the whole season brighter for our team.”
Be Rich volunteers show up ready to help, full of positive energy, and consistently go above and beyond.
When you serve through Be Rich, what seem like small acts—placing pumpkins, hanging garland, decorating Christmas trees—have exponential impact. They create beauty, lift burdens, and remind families and staff alike that they’re not alone, not forgotten, and that joy still has a place—even in the hardest seasons.
