410 Bridge: Vista Hermosa School Renovation
For years, the local school in Vista Hermosa, Guatemala, faced serious challenges. Though the government provided food, the kitchen was so small, outdated, and unhygienic that the school staff couldn’t prepare meals on-site. Instead, the children were sent home with food, meaning many students went without proper nourishment during the day. To make matters worse, the school had no perimeter wall, leaving the campus exposed and raising safety concerns for students and staff alike.
That’s where you came in.
Thanks to your generosity through last year’s Be Rich campaign, our partners at 410 Bridge helped the Vista Hermosa community launch a 45-day transformation project that improved the school and inspired the community.
A team of parents, church leaders, and local volunteers came together to renovate the school kitchen completely. They installed ceramic tile floors, built a proper cooking and washing station, and updated the electrical systems. Fresh walls went up, and, for the first time, clean, healthy meals could be made on-site.
Just as importantly, they constructed a secure perimeter wall with mesh fencing, creating a safe environment and bringing peace of mind to the parents and staff.
Today, the 50 students and two dedicated teachers of Vista Hermosa walk into a school that’s not only functional but filled with new hope. Children eat hot, nourishing meals during the school day, giving them the energy and focus they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Your generosity funded the supplies and support that one community needed to come together and build a better future—unleashing a wave of generosity that will last for generations!
