North Gwinnett Co-Op: Life Changing Help

North Gwinnett Co-Op has long served the community of Gwinnett by providing people with food, guidance, and other resources to help them get back on their feet, whether their struggles are related to job loss, health problems, or other crises. For Bob, this help was life-changing.

Bob struggled with a slow loss of vision that ultimately turned into blindness. As a result, he lost his job, wasn’t able to drive, and fell into homelessness. When he came to North Gwinnett Co-Op for the first time, executive director Kim Phillips noticed his genuine desire and ambition to overcome his circumstances. Phillips connected with Rahul Agarwal at Hamilton Mill Church to find an eye doctor to do surgery on Bob’s eyes. This surgery would allow him to see again without costing him a penny because of the generosity of your donations to North Gwinnett Co-Op. The surgery was successful and Bob was giddy after seeing his face for the first time in five years. Bob is just one of so many people who benefited from the Co-Op’s resources and support systems.

Your generosity during last year’s Be Rich season allowed North Gwinnett Co-Op to purchase and utilize a new database system that manages donations, clients, and volunteers. This system allows the Co-Op to increase donor engagement by streamlining their processes and providing immediate receipts upon donation. They’re also able to keep better records of their clients’ needs, goals, and services.

Not only did you support North Gwinnett Co-Op through a new database system, but you also provided donations to their food pantry. With the rising cost of living and food expenses, your food donations helped support the community’s needs.

“It’s a tremendous help,” Executive Director Kim Phillips shares. “There’s not a lot of churches that walk the talk: Gwinnett Church and Hamilton Mill Church walk the talk.”
