Hope Partners: A Life-Changing Weekend

For more than a decade, Hope Partners has served the densely packed, poverty-stricken community of Pavas, Costa Rica, home to over 60,000 people in just one square mile. Their belief is simple: address a family’s basic needs, like access to food and physical safety, and you pave the way for real transformation through spiritual growth and education.

This February, that belief took shape in an unlikely place: deep in the Costa Rican rainforest, where 174 students, staff, and volunteers gathered for a weekend camp unlike anything they had experienced. For students growing up in Pavas, this wasn't just a trip. For many, it was their first time spending the night outside their neighborhood, the first shared meal in a setting far removed from daily struggle, the first taste of a carefree weekend away with friends.

Through Be Rich, your generosity ensured that every student interested was able to participate. Pillows, blankets, towels, camp shirts, transportation, lodging, meals: thanks to your donations, Hope Partners provided every essential, clearing away any barrier that might have kept a student from the weekend.

And what a weekend it became.

Students built deep friendships, connected with caring leaders, and most importantly, encountered Jesus in new and life-changing ways—some for the first time.

Hope Partners also leveraged content from North Point Ministries’ student ministry, helping students engage in meaningful conversations about identity, purpose, and God’s love for them. The staff watched students take courageous steps of faith, speak struggles aloud for the first time, worship wholeheartedly, and pray for one another.

When the weekend ended, students returned home to circumstances that hadn't changed. But something inside them had. For one weekend, they were in a safe environment, surrounded by caring adults who believed in them, and reminded that they are deeply loved, both by the people around them and by their heavenly Father.

Your generosity didn't just fund a weekend away. It created space for life-changing encounters that will continue to shape these students for years to come!
