Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Gwinnett

Have you ever thought about how much of your self-esteem is tied to your smile? The doctors at Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Gwinnett know how significant dental work is for avoiding shame, boosting confidence, and even gaining employment. Good Sam offers general medical and dental services to the uninsured and underinsured. Many of the patients treated in their dental practice have never been seen by a dentist.

Many of Good Sam’s dental patients deal with advanced tooth decay and broken or missing teeth. Not only is this uncomfortable, but the stigma around a broken smile keeps some patients from getting a job.

Because you chose to be generous during last year’s Be Rich campaign, you supported Good Sam’s Happy Smiles Dental Program, which provides dentures and partials to their patients at lower costs. Your contribution allowed a young boy to get his broken front tooth replaced. His pain was alleviated, and his instinct to hide his broken smile has been replaced by a confident grin. You provided dentures to a man in tech school who, because of the high cost of dentures, wouldn’t be able to both heal his mouth and support his family. Now he can bite without pain or difficulty and interview for a higher-paying job with confidence. Your generosity helped a recovering addict minimize his relapse potential by removing the visual shame trigger of decaying teeth.

“Gwinnett Church has been instrumental in letting us truly be [the] hands and feet of Christ,” said Greg Lang, Good Sam director.

Good Sam’s goal is to take care of people who need help, and by partnering with Good Sam, you have shown this community that they have someone who is FOR them.
