Convoy of Hope: Hygiene Kit Serve Day
Convoy of Hope serves communities all over the world. But last October 5, Convoy got a little more personal.
Over 1,500 adults and kids at Browns Bridge filled the lawn after the services and worked side-by-side to pack hygiene kits, each one stocked with supplies funded by your generosity through Be Rich.
Families didn't just show up. They did something incredible. By the end of the day, an entire Convoy of Hope semi sat loaded with 14,400 kits, ready to be delivered.
These weren't just kits for strangers far away. They were for our own neighbors—three local partners, three different kinds of need, all within a few miles of where we sit on Sundays. More specifically, they were delivered to:
Family Promise of Forsyth County, walking families out of homelessness. "Convoy of Hope in our community serves people in their lowest moments," said Tina Huck, Executive Director. "They need the very basics so they can move out of crisis and into their next step."
Forsyth County Schools' Homeless Education Program, supporting kids in our own hallways. Two full pallets went directly to 610 homeless students and their families in our school system.
Chestatee Elementary, a Title I school where half the kids rely on free and reduced lunch. "Events like this make a huge difference for families who need it," said the school's Family Engagement Coordinator.
The families who served that day saw firsthand how much more we can do together than on our own. They modeled what it looks like to do more than just attend church—but to be the church in our community.
And because we believe that's so important, we're going to do it again on November 8.
Mark it down. Bring your family. Our neighbors’ needs won’t disappear—and neither will we. There’s nothing quite like packing hope for your own neighbors, together.
