Convoy of Hope: Disaster Response

Nobody expects to have their life derailed by a natural disaster. No one wants to plan for the worst to happen. But for Convoy of Hope, it’s the constant preparation that enables them to respond when disaster strikes.

From tornadoes and hurricanes to flooding and wildfires, Convoy of Hope is often on the scene of disasters within hours to provide supplies, care for victims, and to help start the recovery process.

When a 7.2 magnitude earthquake crippled Haiti in August 2021, Convoy of Hope immediately moved into action. Before the earthquake was over, they already had relief supplies staged and ready for local distribution, and just two days later they had a barge en route with additional relief supplies. In the first week after the disaster, they distributed over 1 million meals in the most impacted areas along with hygiene and shelter kits.

Thanks to your generosity through 2020’s Be Rich campaign, we were able to donate to Convoy of Hope’s disaster relief fund. This funding went toward the preparation and supplies needed at a moment’s notice, solving problems that hadn’t even happened yet. Your donations ensured wherever disaster struck, response teams could be there to offer hope in the storm and help when people need it most.
