Champions United FC: Mukono Campus

Champions United FC is reaching the youth of Uganda through soccer. Their clubs and campuses span the country. And while it looks like fun and games, there’s so much more to their mission.

In Uganda, 50% of the population is under the age of seventeen. Many young men, especially those from low-income families, are growing up without role models. Champions United is leveraging the popularity of soccer to connect children with mentors who listen to them, encourage them, and guide them.

Champions United coaches are building long-term relationships with kids in the community. And while it starts with soccer, these coaches are committed mentors who, in many cases, became like big brothers or even father figures to the young men in the program. They use Biblical principles to help players become leaders in the community and, eventually, great fathers for their own children—building a better future for Uganda one family at a time.

You funded the purchase and development of Champions United’s eighth campus through last year’s Be Rich campaign. Located in the Mukono District of Uganda, this location has two soccer fields and houses six coaches. This team will eventually serve 1,000 children per year—multiplying the already incredible impact Champions United has across Uganda.
