Since February, prices on essential items like chicken breast, beef, and seafood have surged by 5 to 16 percent. This matching gift helps offset increased food costs, ensuring Open Hand can continue delivering high-quality, medically tailored meals to the community’s most vulnerable members.

Many families and individuals in our community are struggling to afford all of life's necessities, putting their health and stability at risk. Open Hand provides nourishing, medically appropriate meals that promote better health and independence. These funds cover the cost of 2,750 meals for community members facing food insecurity, ensuring they receive the nutrition and care they need.

 

Hot Water Heater - 2025

As Open Hand transitions into its new Westside campus, critical infrastructure needs continue to arise—most urgently, the installation of a second water heater to meet federal kitchen safety standards. The existing system cannot supply sufficient hot water throughout the facility, putting proper dish sanitation and kitchen operations at risk. This gift directly funds the purchase and installation of a new water heater, ensuring a safer and more efficient environment.
