Mental Health Support - 2025
Forsyth County Schools are seeing increasing numbers of referrals for mental health services for students of all ages, as well as experiencing all-time highs for requests for financial assistance related to student mental health. This funding, managed by The Place, provides mental health support for students and their parents in individual and group settings.
Extracurricular Activity Support - 2025
Many students in Forsyth County Schools live at or below the poverty line or are in foster care and face financial barriers to participating in extracurricular activities, sports, and quality after-school programs. This gift, managed by The Place, allows school social workers to assist students in mitigating costs associated with school-based extracurricular activities that support healthy development and personal growth. Activities can include sports, fine and performing arts, clubs, academic exams, after-school care, and summer programs.
Social Work Emergency Fund - 2025
Many students in Forsyth County live below the poverty line and have emergency needs that are barriers to their success. This funding, managed by The Place, allows school social workers to quickly support students and their families on an as-needed basis after they have exhausted community resources. Help can include medical and dental costs, clothing, or other needs.
