Seeds of Hope: Educational Operations
For our partners at Seeds of Hope in Jericho, the past year has been challenging, to say the least. As war and unrest continue across their region, the local economy has suffered, families have lost jobs, businesses have closed, and even government institutions have struggled to pay salaries.
The effects of the war have impacted every part of the region, and the Seeds of Hope school has not been immune. However, they have been determined to keep their doors open and their staff employed.
From their littlest children in daycare and preschool up through seventh grade, Seeds of Hope is committed to creating a positive, loving school environment that is one-of-a-kind in their community. Most schools in the community are very traditional; it’s not uncommon for students to be hit or mocked by teachers if they misbehave or struggle in the classroom. But Seeds of Hope is committed to doing things differently. They believe that raising a generation of children with love, support, and mutual respect can start a ripple effect that could transform their entire region.
Recently, Seeds of Hope garnered local attention by blazing a new trail with their Science and Art Exhibition. For months, elementary students worked on hands-on projects that blended science, art, and storytelling. They chose topics they loved, created displays to express their learning, and invited their families to come celebrate.
While this concept may sound familiar to many of us, it was a first-of-its-kind event in Jericho—so unique that it even drew a visit from the local Ministry of Education. Parents were moved to tears. Teachers beamed with pride. And students walked away with new confidence, not just in what they’d learned, but in who they’re becoming.
One parent, Maria, shared, “From the first moment I entered the exhibition and saw the achievements of my children, I felt so proud. I’m so grateful they are at Seeds of Hope.”
Your generosity made that possible.
Last year through the Be Rich campaign, you helped fund the operating expenses for Seeds of Hope’s educational programs. In a season when everything around them felt uncertain, your generosity gave Seeds of Hope the certainty they needed to keep moving forward.
You allowed them to give tuition breaks to families that needed it while still paying their staff the salaries they need to support their own families. You stood in the gap as economic hardship deepened. And because of your generosity, their students didn’t just keep learning—they thrived.
