Our House: Saying Yes
10 years of Be Rich has meant nearly one million dollars for Our House.
Since 2014, Decatur City Church has been one of Our House’s most steadfast and deeply invested partners. Through the Be Rich campaign, Our House has received almost one million dollars to empower them to fulfill their mission: to end the cycle of homelessness for families by providing transformative care, stability, and long-term support.
Be Rich giving has directly impacted more than 150 families. But it’s done so much more than that.
“[Be Rich] met us at a growth stage and took the journey with us,” says Tyese Lawyer, CEO of Our House. “It’s been tremendous to grow together and increase our reach together.”
And grow they have.
Thanks to the partnership, Our House has been able to:
Fund dozens of 30-day family stays that include meals, case management, and counseling
Expand classrooms for preschoolers in their nationally accredited early education program
Launch new maternal and pediatric mental health services
Provide job training and professional development for parents
Upgrade transportation, tech, and facilities to serve families with greater dignity and mobility
“Every year, Decatur City Church asks us, ‘What’s going well? What’s not? How can we help?’” Tyese shares. “That level of honesty has allowed us to care for our families—and our staff—in really meaningful ways.”
It’s more than a one-time donation. It’s a decade-long relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared desire to create lasting change.
Through Be Rich you’ve helped Our House say yes to the next family in crisis.
You’ve helped them dream bigger, expand farther, and serve deeper.
And this fall, as we prepare to celebrate one million dollars given, you’ll help make even more possible.
Because when we give generously, consistently, and together—we don’t just fund a project.
We change what’s possible.
