Eagle Ranch: Mark and Tifaney

Mark and Tifaney are house parents at Eagle Ranch, a residential program designed to help children in crisis.

Children living at the ranch have a range of emotional and relational issues they work through with counselors and supportive mentors, all with the end goal of creating healthy long-term relationships with their families.

When the COVID-19 crisis began to escalate in Georgia, the boys and girls at Eagle Ranch were on home visits with their families. For the safety of the kids, Eagle Ranch opted to not allow kids to return to the ranch for a while.

While this unfortunate but necessary turn of events could have felt like the loss of a support system and a disruption to the progress many kids were making, Mark and Tifaney were determined to not let that happen.

They found ways to support the girls they lead… even remotely. Through weekly check-ins, support groups, care packages, birthday drive-bys, and 24/7 availability for the kids and their parents, they let the girls (and their families) know they are loved and they are not alone.

Thanks to your generosity, this kind of support is now available for more children in crisis.

Funds donated through 2020’s  Be Rich campaign allowed Eagle Ranch to hire another set of house parents like Mark and Tifaney. That means more kids will have supportive mentors and outside encouragement in one of the hardest seasons of their lives. It’s another set of families who know they have someone they can call when they feel overwhelmed. And it’s another example of how your generosity is impacting our community in ways we could never imagine.
