MUST Ministries - Woodstock City
Neighborhood Pantry Program - 2024
MUST’s Neighborhood Pantry Program provides easy access to food and other necessities for school-age children and their families. In December 2017, with the help of Be Rich funding, MUST opened their first Neighborhood School Pantry in Cherokee County at Hasty Elementary School. Since then, they have expanded their Neighborhood Pantries to include additional school host sites. Last year, the program served nearly 5,573 children from 1,430 households in Cobb and Cherokee counties, providing them with an average of 50 pounds of food each month along with other necessities. This gift provides continued support to the Neighborhood School Pantries.
Mobile Pantry - 2024
Mobile MUST is an innovative food pantry program that brings fresh produce, meats, dairy, pantry staples, and toiletries to individuals and families living in food deserts. These are areas where access to grocery stores is lacking, challenged by poverty and/or lack of transportation. This gift provides MUST the opportunity to bring food directly to families in these underserved areas within the community.
Employment Specialist - 2024
The move to Hope House from the Elizabeth Inn more than doubled the number of clients receiving shelter and wrap-around services from MUST. One important service is the Hope House Workforce Development program, which supports clients in finding and gaining stable employment. This gift funds the salary for a second Employment Specialist for Hope House.
Motel Voucher Program - 2024
In the Motel Voucher Program, individuals and families that are experiencing homelessness are provided with motel vouchers to safely house them for 30 days. Throughout their stay, they meet with a MUST Case Manager and the Workforce Development team to develop a plan for long-term stability. This funding allows MUST to shelter 24 households for 30 days each.
