Goshen Valley Boys Ranch

Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Specialist - 2024

Over the past year, Cherokee County has seen exponential growth in the number of youth entering foster care. To accommodate this need, Goshen is looking to create a new staff position to assist in expanding their partnerships with local churches as well as support current foster families. This gift funds the salary for a new Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Specialist position for one year.

Counseling Services Benevolence Fund - 2024

Goshen plans to establish a benevolence fund to ensure continued provision of mental health and family support services to families and individuals who lack insurance or other means of payment. This gift toward the fund helps to prevent youth from entering foster care through early intervention.

New Medical Coordinator/Provider - 2024

Goshen aims to enhance medical services in the organization by introducing a provider who can handle most minor appointments across all three of its residential agencies. This move will streamline care, reduce travel time for staff and foster parents, and ensure top-quality medical attention for all youth in Goshen's care. This gift offsets the anticipated $75,000 loss that is projected even after all medical costs and insurance billing is accounted for.

Summer Academy and Intern Program - 2024

This gift funds Goshen's ability to hire interns and seasonal staff at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch for one year. These individuals play a vital role in forming supportive relationships with the boys and creating meaningful childhood memories. Increasing the number of healthy adult relationships is crucial for positive outcomes in foster care. The Summer Academy program and year-round support services improve staff-to-client ratios and provide opportunities for youth to engage in activities and create lasting memories.

Houseparent Trainings and Activities - 2024

Long tenured houseparents are a vital part of the mission of Goshen Valley. In an effort to better support and retain houseparents, Goshen Valley offers trainings and special outings to encourage and foster community among them. This funding provides one year's worth of training and outings for the houseparents.
